Volleyball Recap: Ellison Takes a Loss

Ellison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Smithson Valley Rangers.

Berkley Bates was nothing short of spectacular for Smithson Valley: she had 20 digs and one assist. Bates has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Ortiz, who had seven digs and two aces.

Ellison's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Smithson Valley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Coincidentally, Ellison and Smithson Valley will both be playing Hutto the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Hippos at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rangers will play them later in the day, at 3:15 p.m.
