Basketball Recap: Mercer Takes a Loss

Mercer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Solon Springs Eagles, falling 72-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-17 back in December of 2024.

Mercer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Solon Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mercer Tigers face off against the Wakefield Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Solon Springs, they will face off against Bayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bayfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.
