Baseball Game Preview: Fairless Falcons vs. Manchester Panthers

Fairless hasn't had much luck against Manchester recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m.

Fairless came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Orrville by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

Mike Ritterbeck was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Ritterbeck wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Blake Gregorich, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Manchester took on Canton South on Monday. The Panthers walked away with an 11-7 win over the Wildcats. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Manchester's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Fairless, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
