Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Central Flyers vs. Glenwood Tigers

St. Joseph Central is a perfect 3-0 against Glenwood since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Flyers will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Glenwood took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Joseph Central, who comes in off a win.

St. Joseph Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt East on Tuesday. The Flyers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tartans a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Flyers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Beckham Waginger was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Waginger was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs.

Aldridge went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Rowe went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Aldridge has become a key player for St. Joseph Central: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Mason Weber was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

St. Joseph Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Glenwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Green, falling 15-0.

St. Joseph Central's record now sits at 3-6. As for Glenwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
