Baseball Game Preview: Enterprise Wildcats vs. Opp Bobcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are still undefeated (Enterprise has five wins , while Opp has six dating back to last season).

Enterprise is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by an 18-5 margin over Pike Liberal Arts on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Dylan Yoo looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit.

At the plate, Brady Richardson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mikey Vanderheyden, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Enterprise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Opp narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Andalusia 8-6.

Enterprise pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Opp, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Everything went Enterprise's way against Opp in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Enterprise made off with a 12-2 victory. Does Enterprise have another victory up their sleeve, or will Opp turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
