Football Recap: Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers vs. Pickens Blue Flame
Pickens came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Blue Ridge, but Gavin Forrester wouldn't allow it. The Fighting Tigers walked away with a 50-42 victory over the Blue Flame on Friday for which the team can thank Forrester, who rushed for 159 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries, and also threw for 103 yards while completing 73.3% of his passes. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Blue Ridge, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Marquiel Troupe, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Pickens lost, don't look at Brooks Dow. Despite the final result, he threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 126 yards. 91 of Dow's passing yards were hauled in by Cam Wilson.
