Basketball Recap: Dolores Huerta Prep Comes Up Short

Dolores Huerta Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 46-28 fall against the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles.

Pikes Peak Christian can attribute much of their success to Megan Ferguson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Ferguson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Annaliece Fisher was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine steals.

Dolores Huerta Prep's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pikes Peak Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dolores Huerta Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Trinidad at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pikes Peak Christian, they will challenge Elbert at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pikes Peak Christian is facing Elbert at the right time seeing as Elbert is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
