Pikeville had won four straight games and Lindy Gearheart did her part to make it five on Thursday. The Panthers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the East Ridge Warriors for which the team can thank Gearheart, who had nine kills, eight digs, and four aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last 30 games she's played dating back to last season.

Pikeville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-23.

Pikeville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyla Lee, who had 20 digs and one assist. Those 20 digs gave Lee a new career-high. Carly May was another key player, getting 18 kills and three digs.

Pikeville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in five consecutive matches.

Pikeville's record now sits at 10-4. As for East Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Pikeville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Letcher County Central on the 22nd. As for East Ridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Prestonsburg on the 22nd.
