Softball Recap: South Windsor Takes a Loss

South Windsor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Avon Falcons. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Brianna LeGare made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Isabelle D'Onofrio, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

South Windsor's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Avon, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Coming up, South Windsor will challenge Tolland at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Avon, they will square off against Maloney at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
