While Cumberland Gap's victory against Claiborne wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cumberland Gap Panthers had just enough and edged out the Claiborne Bulldogs 10-9 on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Tate Murphy and Kole Carter made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Murphy struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Carter tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Murphy went 3-for-5 with three runs and one triple, while Carter scored a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Hudson Harris was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. Jaden Pearman was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

Cumberland Gap kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Cumberland Gap now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Claiborne, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1.

Cumberland Gap will have a chance to go back-to-back against Claiborne: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
