Soccer Game Preview: Crosby vs. Porter

Crosby is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will host the Porter Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Crosby will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Crosby had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Liberty on Tuesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 5-2 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Crosby considering their one-goal performance the match before.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Porter was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of Hargrave by a score of 2-1.

Crosby's win bumped their record up to 7-1-2. As for Porter, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Crosby couldn't quite get it done against Porter in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 as they fell 2-0. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
