Softball Game Preview: Marlboro County Bulldogs vs. Waccamaw Warriors

The Marlboro County Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Waccamaw Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Marlboro County has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 8.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs last Tuesday. Marlboro County lost 13-5 to Georgetown. That's two games in a row now that Marlboro County has lost by exactly eight runs.

Addison Skipper made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Autumn Shepherd also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Waccamaw had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Carvers Bay a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Not much got past Reese Rutkowski, who gave up just six hits to keep Carvers Bay off the board.

On the hitting side, Waccamaw saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Stewart, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Marlboro County's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Waccamaw, their record is now 4-9.
