Baseball Recap: Whitmer Comes Up Short

Whitmer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-3 to the Findlay Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-5 on Monday.

Jaiden Mahon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Whitmer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Summers, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Summers has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Rudy Handy also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Whitmer's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Findlay, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Whitmer will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ross at 5:00 p.m. on May 2. As for Findlay, they will square off against Bowling Green at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
