Baseball Recap: Vidor Has No Trouble Against West Orange-Stark

Vidor won the last time they faced West Orange-Stark and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Rylan Chessar, who went 1-for-2 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kolt Holden, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Vidor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Orange-Stark only posted an OBP of .211.

The win made it two in a row for Vidor and bumps their season record up to 14-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for West Orange-Stark, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14-1.

Coincidentally, Vidor and West Orange-Stark will both be playing Lumberton the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Pirates will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th.
