Baseball Game Preview: Capital Cougars vs. Bellarmine Prep Lions

The Capital Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Bellarmine Prep Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Capital is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since May 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Gig Harbor, falling 7-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Timberline hit Bellarmine Prep with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions lost 10-0 to the Blazers. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten runs.

Bellarmine Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dolan Wynne, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Bellarmine Prep and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Capital, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Capital couldn't quite get it done against Bellarmine Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2015 as they fell 9-6. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
