Softball Recap: Moody Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bruceville-Eddy last Thursday, Moody came back down to earth. The Bearcats fell just short of the Valley Mills Eagles by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Bearcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 21-6.

Moody saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sara Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Moody dropped their record down to 9-12-2 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Valley Mills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-9.

Coincidentally, Moody and Valley Mills will both be playing Jonesboro the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bearcats will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
