Volleyball Recap: Falls Lake Extends Winning Streak to Four

Falls Lake had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Carrboro Jaguars with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Firebirds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jaguars, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Falls Lake took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-13, 25-15.

Forrest Beyles paced Falls Lake's offense, picking up 11 kills. Beyles got some help from Malachi Voss and his 11 assists. Beyles also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Samuel Phelps, racking up four apiece.

Falls Lake now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Carrboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Falls Lake will face off against rival Enloe at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Carrboro is set to challenge their familiar foe Riverside-Durham at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
