Softball Game Preview: Pass Christian Pirates vs. Poplarville Hornets

The Pass Christian Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Poplarville Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pass Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Pass Christian's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Pascagoula.

Meanwhile, Poplarville came up short against Greene County on Thursday and fell 9-4.

Pass Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Poplarville, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-7-1.

Pass Christian couldn't quite get it done against Poplarville in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 6-1. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
