Basketball Recap: Troy Gets the Win

If Doniphan West wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Troy, they should've done a better job of containing Henry Geiger. The Troy Trojans secured a 48-43 W over the Doniphan West Mustangs on Friday thanks in part to Geiger, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.6 rebounds per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Rosenberger, who posted seven points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Troy's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Doniphan West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Troy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jackson Heights on January 7, 2025. Doniphan West also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Blue Valley on December 31st.
