The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors will head out on the road to square off against the North Marion Colts at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while North Marion will be coming in after a defeat.
On Thursday, Trinity Christian Academy beat University Christian 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Conquerors.
Trinity Christian Academy got a great performance from Aaron Watson as he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, Gage Petrutz was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brady Harris #2, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, North Marion was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They fell just short of Keystone Heights by a score of 2-1. The Colts haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
North Marion also got a good showing from Lucas Nichols, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Nichols has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, North Marion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rowan Quartararo, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Trenton Ramsey also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Trinity Christian Academy's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for North Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Trinity Christian Academy took their victory against North Marion in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
