Softball Recap: West Central Wins Going Away Against Morgan Township

West Central barely beat Morgan Township the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Cherokees with a sharp 17-7 win on Saturday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Cherokees recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Kailee Bishop, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tenley Bollinger, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

West Central pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Morgan Township, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Central will square off against Faith Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Morgan Township, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kouts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
