Basketball Recap: Chiles Takes a Loss

Chiles played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 71-45 to the Lincoln Trojans. The Timberwolves have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Chiles still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Bundrage, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Bundrage is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Parks, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

Lincoln was led to victory by Kingsley Mutanga and Wes Payne. Mutanga almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine assists, while Payne went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Those 15 points gave Payne a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malakhi Lowe, who had ten points and six boards.

Chiles' loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Lincoln, their record now sits at 11-6.

Chiles didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-64 victory against Maclay on the 10th. As for Lincoln, they will head out to challenge North Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
