Softball Recap: Steel Valley Takes a Loss

Steel Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 13-8 to the Charleroi Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 two weeks ago.

Steel Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Charleroi, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Steel Valley will host East Allegheny at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Charleroi, they will welcome McGuffey at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
