Basketball Recap: El Camino Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for El Camino, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They strolled past the Rio Linda Knights with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 57-43. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2020.

Gavin Bennett was the offensive standout of the contest as he posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Mitchell Stevenson, who earned ten points.

El Camino's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-11. As for Rio Linda, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

El Camino and Rio Linda could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. El Camino (ranked 994th) will meet Casa Roble (ranked 219th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. El Camino is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Rio Linda will face off against Sutter at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday down 641 places (1207 vs. 566).
