Softball Recap: Laurel Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Laurel had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Park Rangers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Adrienne Roth made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Sophia Wisecup was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Harper Andersen was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Laurel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .773. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Park, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Laurel beat the Rangers by a score of 15-1 later that day.
