Basketball Preview: Clearfield Falcons vs. Woods Cross Wildcats
The Clearfield Falcons will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Woods Cross Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. Hopefully Clearfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Clearfield was able to grind out a solid victory over the Lakers, taking the game 47-38.
Clearfield found their leader in underclassman Isabelle Wyaskett, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Wyaskett is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Kearns, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Woods Cross' game on Wednesday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Box Elder.
Clearfield's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Woods Cross, they dropped their record down to 9-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Clearfield barely slipped by the Wildcats in their previous meeting back in January, winning 37-36. Does Clearfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
