Volleyball Recap: Ilwaco Comes Up Short

Ilwaco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Raymond/South Bend Ravens, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fishermen of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Ilwaco was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Raymond/South Bend's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-9, 25-22.

Ilwaco's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Raymond/South Bend, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ilwaco is set to square off against their familiar foe Chief Leschi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Raymond/South Bend will face off against rival Forks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
