Basketball Recap: Clovis Starts Season with Victory at Home

Clovis gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They took down the McLane Highlanders 80-65. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won three in a row.

McLane lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Keshawn Langenfeld, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 22 points. Khristain Smith was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five boards and three steals.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clovis will welcome Dinuba at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for McLane, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Sanger at 6:30 p.m.
