Soccer Game Preview: Rockwood Summit vs. Marquette

The Rockwood Summit Falcons will take on the Marquette Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rockwood Summit will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.

Rockwood Summit is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Rolla on Wednesday as they made off with a 7-1 win. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Rockwood Summit with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Marquette came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that Marquette have won by just one goal.

Rockwood Summit's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Marquette, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Rockwood Summit couldn't quite get it done against Marquette in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
