The Trinity Catholic Celtics will square off against the Taylor Wildcats at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Trinity Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6  runs per game  this season.
Trinity Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Crescent City  a   16-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Celtics considering their one-run performance the  contest before.
 Liliana Ornelas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run.
 In other batting news, Trinity Catholic got a  massive  performance out of  Lourdes Ornelas, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and two  runs. That's the most  runs  Ornelas has posted since back in March.  Julianna Ortega was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Trinity Catholic  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crescent City only posted  an  OBP of  .182.
Meanwhile, Taylor came tearing into  Tuesday's  match with three straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  victory over the Bulldogs. Seven seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the  squad scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
  Lacey Price and  Amya Ramos did most of the damage at the plate:  Price  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and two  RBI, while  Ramos  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Caydence Hassell, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Trinity Catholic is  on a roll lately: they've  won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Taylor, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Wednesday. Trinity Catholic hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.6  home runs per game. However, it's not like Taylor struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 0.9  home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
 Trinity Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Taylor in their previous meeting  on April 3rd, sneaking past  8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Celtics since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
