Softball Game Preview: Kennedy Eagles vs. Hercules Titans

The Kennedy Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Hercules Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Kennedy was handed a 16-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Bethel 13-12.

Meanwhile, Hercules had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They skirted past the Redhawks 19-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since April 24, 2024.

Hercules let Samaya De Alba and Karma Miller run wild. De Alba got on base in four of her eight plate appearances with one double, while Miller went 4-for-6 with one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Flores, who got four hits from her six at bats.

Hercules' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 23.3 runs over those games. As for Kennedy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2-1.

Kennedy might still be hurting after the 31-15 defeat they got from Hercules in their previous meeting on Wednesday. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
