Softball Recap: Oswego East Gets the Win

After losing to Downers Grove South the last time they met, Oswego East decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wolves had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 10-9 on Saturday. With that win, the Wolves brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Olivia Owles and Danielle Stone did most of the damage at the plate: Owles went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Stone went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave Stone a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Maday, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Oswego East is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Downers Grove South, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Oswego East beat the Mustangs by a score of 9-5 later that day.
