Softball Recap: Appleton North Lightning vs. West De Pere Phantoms

Sadly, Appleton North is still looking for their first win of the season after four matches. They fell just short of the West De Pere Phantoms by a score of 6-5 on Monday. One positive for Appleton North, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Appleton North got a good showing from Ella Nissen, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Alyssa Wald and Payton Willenkamp did some serious damage despite the final result: Wald scored two runs while going 3-for-5, while Willenkamp scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Beggs, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Even though they lost, Appleton North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
