Basketball Game Preview: Orting Cardinals vs. Fife Trojans

Orting is 1-9 against Fife since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Orting Cardinals will head out to square off against the Fife Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Fife took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Orting, who comes in off a win.

If Orting beats Fife with 54 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Orting strolled past Charles Wright with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-39. The game marked the Cardinals' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Fife was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clover Park.

The win was the third in a row for Orting, bringing their record for this year to 3-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Fife, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Orting was able to grind out a solid victory over Fife in their previous matchup back in February, winning 63-56. Will Orting repeat their success, or does Fife have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
