Basketball Recap: Foothill Tech Piles Up the Points Against Del Sol

Foothill Tech had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt Del Sol on Tuesday. The Dragons took their contest with ease, bagging a 72-44 victory over the Jaguars. With the Dragons ahead 44-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Despite the defeat, Del Sol saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Abel Arrizon shot 55% from the field en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Arrizon has scored all season. JJ Ortega was another key player, putting up nine points and seven boards.

The win (which was Foothill Tech's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games. As for Del Sol, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Foothill Tech will head out to take on Hillcrest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 5. As for Del Sol, they will be taking part in a tournament against Buena at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
