Volleyball Recap: Menaul's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

After a string of six wins, Menaul's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Legacy Academy Silverbacks. The shutout was out of character for the Panthers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-19, 25-10.

Legacy Academy found their leader in sophomore Bella Montano, who had six digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Montano.

Menaul's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-7. As for Legacy Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Menaul will take on rival Jemez Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Legacy Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Oak Grove Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
