Soccer Game Preview: Rockwall-Heath vs. Longview

The Rockwall-Heath Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Longview Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rockwall-Heath has five straight wins, Longview has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Rockwall-Heath challenged North Forney on Tuesday. Rockwall-Heath never let North Forney onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Falcons are ranked 553rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Longview's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Tyler Legacy by a score of 1-0.

Rockwall-Heath's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for Longview, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1.

Rockwall-Heath came up short against Longview when the teams last played back in March of 2020, falling 3-1. Can Rockwall-Heath avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
