Softball Recap: Monte Vista Comes Up Short

Monte Vista lost against California back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs lost 11-5 to the Grizzlies.

Hailey Frantz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Gemma Hughes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Monte Vista has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for California, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monte Vista will face off against Livermore at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for California, they will challenge San Ramon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Grizzlies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
