Cape Fear Christian Academy put the hurt on Gray's Creek with a sharp 82-62 victory. Zeke Brock was his usual excellent self, scoring 41 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Chestnut, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds.
Gray's Creek lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zeek Reed, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Ashton Dorsey, who scored nine points.
Even though they lost, Gray's Creek were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Cape Fear Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 8-8. As for Gray's Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cape Fear Christian Academy will take on Lee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lee Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Gray's Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South View at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South View is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
