Football Game Preview: Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles vs. Hilton Head Island Seahawks

Two dominant backs in Trevon Williamson and Thaddeus Czarnecki are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles will challenge the Hilton Head Island Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gray Collegiate Academy comes in on nine and Hilton Head Island on ten.

Gray Collegiate Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Hartsville as they made off with a 49-28 victory. Considering the War Eagles have won eight matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gray Collegiate Academy found their leader in sophomore Williamson, who rushed for 119 yards and three scores, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. The War Eagles also got help from Hiszari Gantt, who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.

Gray Collegiate Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Hilton Head Island made easy work of Wilson on Friday and carried off a 31-7 win. The Seahawks are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth contest they've won by 20+ points this season.

A big part of Hilton Head Island's victory came down to the chemistry between Derrick Raniszewski and his top target Jeremiah Walters. Raniszewski rushed for 43 yards and one touchdown while Walters picked up 110 receiving yards and one TD. Walters showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 58 yards.

One reason for the win was Hilton Head Island's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Josh Bigger and Will Jimenez, who racked up five sacks between them. Thanks to that big game, Bigger is now up to 13 sacks on the season. Hilton Head Island got some further help from Andrew Massey: he forced one fumble and made ten total tackles.

Gray Collegiate Academy's record now sits at 10-2. As for Hilton Head Island, their record is now 11-1.
