Volleyball Game Preview: Frontenac Raiders vs. Galena Bulldogs

Frontenac has gone a perfect 10-0 against Galena recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Raiders will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Frontenac saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Jayhawk Linn.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Frontenac took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14.

Frontenac's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lakyn Sullivan, who had eight digs, and Laynee Shay, who had eight digs and two assists. That's the most digs Sullivan has posted over her last ten contests.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Galena and Baxter Springs have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 2-1.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Galena got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 21-25, 25-19.

Frontenac's win bumped their record up to 16-11-1. As for Galena, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8.

Frontenac was able to grind out a solid win over Galena in their previous meeting back in September, winning 2-0. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
