Softball Game Preview: York Cougars vs. A.C. Flora Falcons

For the second straight game, York will face off against A.C. Flora. The Cougars will face off against the Falcons on Friday. York is coming into the game hot, having won their last 19 games.

York is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over A.C. Flora.

Layla Clayton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kayla Johnson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Marisa Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

York pushed their record up to 24-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for A.C. Flora, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-6.
