Recap: Cordova Wolves vs. Bartlett Panthers
The Cordova Wolves fell victim to the Bartlett Panthers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Panthers on the road and fell 41-0. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cordova in their matchups with Bartlett: they've now lost four in a row.
Geron Johnson got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 208 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
Cordova's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Bartlett, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3.
Cordova will head out on the road to face off against Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arlington has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th. As for Bartlett, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Whitehaven at 7:00 p.m. Whitehaven will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Bartlett is ranked 18th).
