Volleyball Recap: Grace Demitrovic Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Irvington

There's no place like home for Dobbs Ferry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Irvington Bulldogs by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 23-25, 25-11, 25-18.

Dobbs Ferry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grace Demitrovic led the charge by getting 11 kills, ten digs, and eight aces. Those eight aces gave Demitrovic a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Denike, who had 24 digs, 15 kills, and three aces.

Dobbs Ferry's record now sits at 11-1. As for Irvington, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Dobbs Ferry will square off against Putnam Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Irvington, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hastings at 4:30 p.m. on the 17th.
