Volleyball Recap: West Las Vegas Takes Down Crownpoint in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Las Vegas walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Crownpoint Eagles on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Dons: when they faced off against the Eagles back in September, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Tyra Horner paced West Las Vegas' offense, picking up 18 kills. Horner got some help from Ciana Medina and her 23 assists. Malie Satete controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

The victory made it two in a row for West Las Vegas and bumps their season record up to 14-10. As for Crownpoint, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-8.

West Las Vegas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Cottonwood Classical Prep on the 13th. As for Crownpoint, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Santa Fe Indian on the 14th.
