It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tupelo can now relate to. They fell just short of the Madison Central Jaguars by a score of  6-5 on Tuesday. The Golden Wave's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
 Tanner Brannigan was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   seven  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Brody Wilson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Dayne Wray, who  went 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
Tupelo's defeat dropped their record down to 20-15. As for Madison Central, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record  this season.
While Tupelo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
