Softball Recap: Pell City's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Pell City's victory against St. Clair County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Pell City had just enough and edged out St. Clair County 4-3 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Reese Edwards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kherington Keith was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Aubrey Tucker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

The win (which was Pell City's fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Clair County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10-1.

Looking ahead, Pell City will head out on the road to take on Arab at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Clair County, they will take on Satsuma at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Satsuma is coming into the contest with four straight wins on the road, so St. Clair County will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
