Basketball Recap: Hartsville Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hartsville came into Saturday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past the Hannah-Pamplico Raiders with a 60-55 win on Saturday.

Hartsville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braden Crawley, who posted 14 points and six steals. That's the most points Crawley has posted since back in January of 2024. Jamyari Scipo-Bishop also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Hartsville was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hannah-Pamplico only racked up three assists.

Hannah-Pamplico's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tylin Jenkins, who went 6 for 15 en route to 16 points and six boards. The contest was Jenkins' third in a row with at least ten points. De'Auje Bacchus was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Hartsville's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Hannah-Pamplico, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hartsville will host South Florence at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hannah-Pamplico has already played their next matchup (against Hemingway), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
