Volleyball Recap: Eylul Ozcimen and Manuela Battistella Secure Win for Layton Christian Academy

Layton Christian Academy won the last time they faced Ben Lomond and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles blew past the Scots 3-0. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Layton Christian Academy's got stronger as the match went on, holding Ben Lomond to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-6, 25-3.

Leading Layton Christian Academy to victory were Manuela Battistella and Eylul Ozcimen. Battistella had ten aces and five digs, while Ozcimen had three digs and two aces. Those ten aces gave Battistella a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Layton Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The win (which was Layton Christian Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2-2. As for Ben Lomond, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14.
