Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Santa Rosa's Tenth in Last 13 Outings

Santa Rosa extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Mia Garza. The Santa Rosa Warriors blew past the Progreso Red Ants 46-20 on Friday thanks in part to Garza, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Aiden Garcia, who posted no points and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 13 times she's played.

Santa Rosa is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Progreso, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

When Santa Rosa and Progreso next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Santa Rosa will face off against Lyford and their seven-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Santa Rosa's defense has only allowed 24.5 points per game this season, so Progreso's offense will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Progreso will try to stop Raymondville's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
